Chandelle Park property map

Choose your route

Inner track: 400 metres
Outer track: 500 metres
Full circuit: approximately 900 metres

Begin near the Garden Studio and follow the orange route shown on the property map and the signs along the tracks.

Lookouts along the way

Pause at Llama Lookout for views across the paddocks and towards the surrounding mountains while the llamas, alpacas and other animals graze.

Aurora Lookout is a peaceful place to watch the sky on clear evenings. Southern Lights sightings depend on weather and solar conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Walk safely

  • Wear enclosed shoes.
  • Watch for uneven ground, hidden holes and animal burrows.
  • Take care around loose gravel, slippery leaves and fallen branches.
  • Use a torch when walking outside after dark.

Snakes and bushland insects

Snakes, ticks, leeches and Jack Jumper ants may be present in natural bushland and grassy areas. Do not disturb logs, rocks, leaf litter, soil mounds or ant nests.

If you see a snake, stop, give it space and move away calmly. Never attempt to approach or handle it.

09

Native wildlife

Quiet visitors, captured on camera

Native animals move through Chandelle Park’s bushland, paddocks and garden edges throughout the day and night.

A Tasmanian devil at Chandelle Park

Wildlife videos

Animals seen or recorded at Chandelle Park include Tasmanian pademelons, Bennett’s wallabies, bandicoots, brushtail possums, spotted-tailed quolls, Tasmanian devils and echidnas, together with many native bird species.

Some animals are regular visitors, while others are shy, nocturnal or only appear occasionally. Sightings during a stay cannot be guaranteed, but moving quietly and watching the edges of the bushland may reveal more than searching for a closer look.

The camera often captures activity that guests would not otherwise see, including nocturnal animals and rare visitors moving through secluded parts of the property.

Tamar Valley Wine Route

Follow the Tamar Valley Wine Route

Tasmania’s oldest and largest wine region has more than 30 cellar doors spread along both sides of the Tamar River.

Chandelle Park recommends Evenfall Winery

Cool-climate sparkling wine, chardonnay, riesling, pinot gris and pinot noir are central to the region. Many cellar doors are boutique operations where visitors can meet the people behind the wine.

Opening days vary, and some tastings are by appointment. Use the official route map to build a short outing or a longer day around the valley.
